Let’s get to know agent Rachel Letofsky from The Cooke Agency.
Rachel graduated from the Humber Creative Book Publishing Program and
the University of Toronto, where she specialized in English Literature. She
joined the Cooke Agency in 2010, and works as the Senior Literary Assistant.
I had the chance to meet Rachel at the 2012 PNWA summer conference. She
shared with attendees that she is looking to build her own list in the areas of
YA, especially historical and fantasy. In the adult realm, she is looking for
literary fiction.
As an added bonus, Rachel is interested in working with unpublished
authors to help guide them in the right direction.
Her advice to writers- Do your research. Look at our submission
guidelines and follow them. Include a sample of your writing. And most
importantly, use a normal 12 pt. font. She is tired of getting weird funky
fonts and colors.
What to do if you want to submit?- Make sure to mark your submission to
Rachel. Below are the website guidelines. EMAIL only.

ReplyDeleteYes, I only got to know her because of the conference. She is not listed directly on their site.
